# Cooking Tips:

01 -
  • It takes ten minutes to throw together and then does all the work while you do anything else.
  • The apricot jam adds a sweetness that balances the smoky tang in a way that keeps people reaching for one more.
  • You can keep it warm in the crock pot for hours without worrying about it drying out or burning.
02 -
  • Stir the sauce really well before pouring it over the sausages or the jam will settle in clumps and wont coat evenly.
  • Dont skip the halfway stir, the sausages on the bottom can stick if the sauce gets too thick without a little movement.
  • If the sauce looks too thick after an hour, add a tablespoon or two of water and stir it in to loosen things up.
03 -
  • Make the sauce the night before and store it in the fridge, then all you have to do is dump everything into the crock pot and turn it on.
  • For a spicy version, stir in a quarter teaspoon of cayenne or a few shakes of hot sauce when you mix the sauce.
  • If the sauce is too thin at the end, leave the lid off for the last fifteen minutes and let it reduce down while you stir occasionally.
